Introduction to "On Collaborations
With My Daughter"
After graduation from college, my daughter
moved to the west coast where she continued to pursue her interest
in photography and book arts. I began to engage the idea of making
glass books as an extension of the glass sculpture that I create,
so when she returned to the East a few years ago, I asked her
if she might be interested in working together to make some glass
books. Happily, she said, "Yes", and we have created
a series of collaborative pieces that combine my expertise in
working with glass and form and her insights in creating with
photo images and poetry. Through this work we have not only created
our unique sculpture but have grown to know each other as creative
peers.
